Specific case studies were modeled to compare standard glazing packages to a glass package incorporating self-tinting dynamic glass. The lecture will discuss how dynamic glass can promote proper daylighting and energy efficiency. The participants will learn about solutions to common glass problems and the technology that significantly reduces energy costs while allowing architects to use glass in direct sunlight and allowing the occupants of the building to enjoy the views and use of the windows, without the heat gain.
Our guest speaker is Mr. Scott Mcfarlane travelling from Lexington, Kentucky for this event. He is the Suntuitive Director for Asia and the Middle East for Intuitive Innovations. Scott works with Suntuitive in North & South America, Asia, Australia and the Middle East to collaborate with architects in the use of emerging sustainable technologies; specifically in the area of Dynamic Self-Tinting Window Technology that mitigates Solar Heat Gain and glare from direct sunlight and reducing the overall energy consumption in buildings, while maximizing the use of natural day lighting.
Please join us at the Herman Miller Showroom, Marina Plaza, Dubai Marina on Wednesday! Continuing Education credits will be offered.
Each year the AIA Middle East chapter sponsors continuing education lectures and talks throughout the region to help architects maintain their licensure. The AIA Middle East recognizes that continuing education in architecture is crucial to advancing and improving the profession. Architects need continuing education to maintain competency, to prepare for the future and also to fulfill the continuing education requirements for AIA membership.
