Dubai BIM Standard for Building Permit

In recent years, Dubai Municipality in collaboration with other building permit authorities have initiated strategic projects to pave the way for a wide adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and to accelerate the digital transformation in the AEC sector.

In the first part of the workshop, we will share with the participants the key outcome of DM BIM projects, namely Dubai BIM roadmap, Dubai BIM standards for building permit, Dubai BIM e-Submission and automatic code compliance checking platform. In the second part we will introduce buildingSMART UAE chapter and invite the community to work together in a spirit of collaboration to promote and support digital transformation in the building and construction sector in the UAE through the adoption and development of open standards and cooperation with government entities, private companies and educational institutions.

About the Speaker:

Ali Ismail works as BIM expert in Dubai Municipality and actively involved in Dubai BIM Roadmap project and buildingSMART UAE chapter. He is playing a vital role driving digital transformation in construction industry in Dubai by contributing to the development of Dubai BIM roadmap, BIM standards and BIM e-Submission platform.

He holds a PhD degree in the field of Construction Project Planning and Building Information Modelling (BIM) from Germany. He has more than 15 years of experience in R&D and IT topics in AEC industry like Project Management, BIM, Rehabilitation Engineering, Construction Project Planning Using Simulation Methods, Open BIM Standards, and IT applications in Civil Engineering.
