2023 AIA ME Year End Conference
The American Institute of Architects, Middle East Chapter, has issued a call for papers for its 10th Year End Conference and Design Awards, which will be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from December 8 to December 9, 2023.
This year's theme is "Saudi Arabia: Morphology of a Nation."
Saudi Arabia is undergoing a period of unprecedented development, with new cities being built and urban fabric being reconfigured. At the same time, the country is deeply rooted in its cultural heritage, with a strong sense of tradition and history. This conference will explore the ways in which these two forces interact and shape the built environment of Saudi Arabia.
One of the key themes of the conference will be technological advancement. Saudi Arabia is home to some of the most cutting-edge architectural projects in the world and we will explore how these projects push the boundaries of what is possible. We will also consider the ways in which technology can be used to create a more sustainable future.
At the same time, we will explore how Saudi Arabia's rich culture informs its built environment. From the traditional architecture of the old cities to the modern interpretations of these forms, we will consider the ways in which the past and present intersect. We will also examine the ways in which the built environment can help to preserve and celebrate cultural heritage.
Join us in exploring the changing landscape of Saudi Arabia and witness the morphological journey of a nation.
