AIA Middle East plans to organize a series of events including project tours, lectures by regional and international architects and professionals in the construction industry, film series, and panel discussions of relevant issues. These events will create a forum for the exchange of ideas and networking among industry professionals. For AIA members, these events will be recognized by AIA for continued education points.

King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Healthcare Sciences is a mega project for the Ministry of National Guard. It is designed by Dar Al-Handasah and Perkins+Will with over 1,000,00 m² of BUA and is composed of an Academia Complex, a Medical Precinct, Administrative Precinct, Sports & Recreational zone as well as Residential Area.

During this tour, Architect Chucri Haddad of Dar Al-Handasah will explore the planning and design principles adopted in this project. The talk will also elaborate on the importance of design with a keen focus on the specific cultural, climatic, and operational requirements of the local client. Also, the visit will cover the LEED implementation and sustainable strategies during the design and construction phases.

*Attendance will earn participants 1 Unit of Continuing Education (CEU).
