Physical barriers in cities are a spreading phenomenon, especially in the Middle East.
This work investigates patterns and consequences of physical barriers in Iraq's capital city of Baghdad. This presentation examines how these barriers play a major role in the segregation of society and its negative consequences to the city's urban context.
This work was one of the winners in the University of Bahrain's 2018 Architecture Senior Exhibition, supervised by Wafa Al-Ghatam, and has been published as a book holding the same title.
