When an Architect Builds for Her/Him Self Presented by: Dr. Ahmed Al Jowder

  • Bahrain Fort Site Museum Bahrain Bahrain (map)

Dr. Ahmed Al Jowder; Bahraini architect, urban planner & academic takes us through a journey of designing and building his own house, named Arwadan, in Arad, Bahrain.

When the architect comes to build for her/him self, he/she in fact plays multiple major roles in the design process, becoming the User, Owner and Designer. No doubt, this experience is subjective and reflecting on it enriches the progress of making design architecture. The lecture will cover the dilemma, interaction, and the issues tackled in the design process and explores solutions.

*Attendance in all the event will earn attendees  1 Unit of Continuing Education (CEU).
